After the day in Barcelona, mom and I packed again and headed for a 3 hour trip by train to Valencia in the morning.
Traveling Spain with a train is a great option- there's a lot of room to put both your bags and legs, you can sleep throughout the drive and it gets you anywhere.
We stayed at an Airbnb just next to the center and as mom's tour guide I took her to see the City of Arts and Sciences from the outside, which is where we took the photos a day later.
The City of Arts and Sciences is based above a green park, and you can find there a huge aquarium, an opera house (in which I saw a Mozart concert the last time), a science museum and some more beautiful structures that combine nature with architecture.
The next two days were spent by more walking around the city, taking photos and having late night snacks at the apartment.
All of these things were truly great, but what was truly better was that we had an opportunity to really be together. In such a space where it was only us, we were able to connect and talk. I was able to re-feel all the love my dad and her have for me and their support through the changes I go through in my life these past few months and for this I am eternally grateful.
Also for the fact that only when we got on the train back to Barcelona on Saturday night did it start to rain.
Part 3 about the workshop I taught will be coming next week...
