How I Made it Through my First International Workshop in Spain - Part 1

April 12, 2018

Two weeks ago I wrote about my solo trip to Spain 3 years ago.

In the next coming blogs I will share my experience as a traveling yoga teacher - only this time I was all but alone.

First off, as last minute magic always is, my mom wanted to join me and we were lucky enough to get the last ticket on the same flight. Not only is mom my best friend, but also the most zen person you'll ever meet without having meditated a second in her life and her ease really helped me ease my way through this.

When we landed in Barcelona the weather was great, a little cold but also sunny and warm, which was very surprising due to how heavy it snowed just 3 days earlier.

About 15 minutes after getting in the hotel we were picked up by Natalia, a friend and a yoga teacher I met through Instagram (@yoga_is_love_bcn)

Let me tell you about Natalia, as she is not your ordinary person.

Two years ago I met her through Instagram and fell in love with her practice and wise words. We've been talking ever since and once she found out I was coming to Barcelona it was obvious that we'd get together, but I could never imagine the hospitality and endless love she showed me.

Natalia had the idea to write an article about my journey in a magazine she works at that's called HACID magazine , an international and inspiring magazine that's run by Xavi Moya . She took my mom and I to the Hara Yoga studio, where the

interview and photo session were to take place, and where we immediately felt like home with all the people and studios within the shala that were so beautiful, warm and inviting.

The interview was conducted in Spanish, and although both Natalia and I were nervous about it, and only just met in person, after a few seconds it was like talking to an old friend and we both completely forgot about the camera filming us.

After that we had a quick photo shoot with Nieves and Cesar from Hara Yoga studio and then mom and I strolled the town and rested up to get ready for our trip to Valencia the next day.

Part 2 will be coming next week...
