My name is Shani and I've been practicing Yoga since 2014.
While my journey started as a physical one, trying to find ways to ease my back pain, I found out it was so much more than this and with time so many lessons unfolded in front of me.
My asana and pranayama (poses and breath) practice has evolved over the years, from being a complementary stretching practice after a running and weights workout to being the only exercise I do 5-6 days a week, 1.5-2 hours each time.
I try listening to my body and mind as much as possible before each practice, and I go to a private class once a week to deepen my practice even more and practice letting go. When I practice alone I might go back to the same flows I built with minor changes, I might use YouTube videos (usually when I feel a little low on energy), or I explore new poses and all the preparation poses to get me to them. For me practicing is more than just a workout, it's a great way to just shut off from everything around me and a chance to clear out the mental and physical toxins form the body. I get a lot of peace of mind, am more able to tackle on new projects and ideas and I have a greater sense of love towards myself, which enables me to give back to others.
So this is why I'm writing this blog, wrote the Ebook and taking a Yoga teacher training course, so I would be able to share with everyone the love and peacefulness that was passed on to me.This blog will be about the Yoga practice and studies, how it relates to our daily lives (both physical and mental aspects) and also about my personal journey.
